Blast from the past

1989, it was the best year of my life. I still can’t quite believe it’s already been 20 years since that perfect year.

The peak of the metal scene. I remember there was a Def Leppard weekend on MTV, and Always There For You had heavy rotation. My first true love Leslie broke up with me, and later I broke up with the only girl that I ever deeply regretted leaving, Mary Ann (if you’re out there, it was the worst mistake I ever made).

Staying out to watch the F-16s take off the strip at Andrews AFB, sneakin smokes at the bowling alley with my best friend Daniel. It was the time of my life, I’ll never forget it.

This song got popular a little later, but I remember hearing it and thinking it was one of the best upbeat rock tunes I had heard, and it hit me hard when I met my final high school love (she knows who she is, my pretty Paisley girl).

It’s the pretty boys with electric toys… Pretty Boy Floyd. Lord I love this song. Happy reminiscing…
